The Allure of the Crystal Ball

Martha Dunlop New to This, Ready for More 3 Comments

Since I was a young girl, I have had a fascination with crystals balls. The image of a Romany woman hovering her ring adorned hands over the large glass sphere set in front of her on the table, her bracelets jingling against each other as she slowly moved her fingers along the sphere’s surface, staring into the clear ball, has always been what appeared in my mind whenever I contemplated divination. There was always something mysterious and captivating about the crystal ball sitting on that table; I desired to be that Romany woman. I wanted to experience the mystical powers of the crystal ball for myself, but it seemed that I didn’t have the means to purchase one, at least not until last year.

Survey Results: How Psychics ‘See’

What does psychic really mean? And how do people see and hear intuitively? These are questions that fascinate me. I know how I see and hear, and what the term psychic means to me, but I know other people experience their gifts in very different ways. Why was I being shown this particular scene, and what did it mean to me. This was where the notebooks came in.

But I would really like to hear your thoughts and experiences. If you would like to give me a quote to use in the blog, I can give your name and web address, or you can remain anonymous. Only people who have requested a mention will be named.

Fictional Characters in the Real World

Martha Dunlop Book Chat, Fiction, New to This, Ready for More 13 Comments

Do any of your favourite fictional characters feel real to you? Do you imagine yourself playing Quidditch at Hogwarts with Harry Potter, or visiting the Cullens’ house in Forks? I have friends in books who I have visited many times. Their energy feels solid and easily reachable to me. I re-read their books not for the story, but for their company. This sense of ‘reality’ takes on more momentum when the characters are given life by a large number of people.
