Do you know what I'm thinking? What it really means to be psychic

First, let me begin by saying a big, fat, No.

No, I don’t know what you’re thinking, I don’t know everything that’s going to happen and I don’t know when you’re going to die.

Having said that, I have developed my psychic senses to the point where I use them in my everyday life, both for my own benefit and for others. I use them to help me make decisions and to recognise what is good for me and moves me further along my path.

I also use these senses to help me understand myself and the world around me in ever-evolving ways. This self-development is the key to freeing your psychic abilities, because it is our emotional and energetic blocks that inhibit us from tuning in to the energetic world around us.

Everyone is naturally psychic, and intuitive experiences are far more common than we generally admit.

Do you ever think about someone the moment before the phone rings?

Do you ever have a sense that something is wrong, or feel uncomfortable about a decision you have to make? Do you feel relief when you’ve extracted yourself from the situation, even though there was nothing obviously wrong?

We often talk about intuition or gut feel. Most people rely on it to a greater or lesser extent, but this same gut feel is the beginning of psychic ability. So yes, we really do all have it, and yes, you can develop it if you would like to.

There are six main psychic senses.

Clairvoyance or Clear Seeing

Some Psychics see with their eyes, I know one and I’m in awe of her ability. Most people though, myself included, see pictures in our minds. These feel very similar to memories, except that you don’t know what’s coming next, and you don’t control the picture. The real skill here lies in recognising what you receive psychically, and what is your own imagination or wishful thinking. For this reason, many psychics find it easier to get information for other people than for themselves, because they have no emotional attachment to the outcome.

Clairaudience or Clear Hearing

This is when you hear words, either through your ears, or directly into your mind like telepathy. Once again, most people hear in their mind. I certainly do, but I know at least one person who hears with her ears. If you think you have clairaudience, try writing down the words that come into your mind. This will help you remember what was said and it might clarify what is real. If it has focus and moves forward in a logical way it is probably a message from somewhere. If it keeps stalling, or rambling, it’s more likely to be a product of your own mind. I find channeled information often has a specific style. When I look at pages of clearly written information that I’ve churned out without stopping, even though I had done no research and had no idea where it was going, it is obvious I can’t claim the credit.

Clairsentience or Clear Feeling

Empathy is a common word. It’s used it business, in child rearing and relationships. We all try to put ourselves into other people’s shoes in order to guide our actions, or at least most of us do.

Being an Empath is a big step further on. It means you feel other people’s emotions without trying. The difficulty lies in recognising whether those feelings are your own or somebody else’s. This is the hardest gift in my psychic repertoire. It has taken me years to recognise it, and I still miss it more often than I spot it. But when I do realise what’s happening it’s incredibly freeing. If you find yourself drained by groups of people, or notice your good moods dissipate around certain friends and acquaintances, you may have empathic tendencies. In this case, it might be worth looking into ways of protecting yourself from surrounding negativity.

Claircognizance or Clear Knowing

I’m sure most people use this sense to greater or lesser degree. Do you ever feel sure something is right or wrong, even though you don’t really know why? When developed, this sense becomes more sophisticated, with the psychic being able to get a ‘feel’ for people or situations purely from tuning into their energy. This is part of what happens if you go to a psychic reading, but no, I’m not doing this when we’re standing talking. If you want me to find out more you have to ask, and I will tune in, for you, in order to help.

Clairalience, Clear Smelling and Clairgustance, Clear Tasting

I have to admit I have no experience of these last two. Here the psychic will experience smells or tastes that will prompt a memory or recognition. Is this something you’ve ever experienced or encountered? If so, I’d love to hear about it.

As you can see, psychic senses are extensions of the same senses and intuitions most people use on a daily basis. Anyone can develop them by working on their emotional and energetic blockages, because these prevent us from clearly sensing the world around us.

The clearer you become, the clearer the messages will be.

I will look at ways of clearing blockages in future posts, so if you’re interested, keep an eye out, Like my Facebook Page, or sign up for my blog.

So what is it really like to be psychic? I can’t promise you that an Edward Cullen style mind-reading ability is impossible, but I can tell you that nobody I’ve ever met has functioned that way. In reality, it is an ever-expanding and infinitely exciting world of possibilities, but only when you tune into it. If we saw everything, the range of information and possibilities would be far too much to comprehend.

So no, I don’t know what you’re thinking. If I want to know, I will ask you. I won’t intrude where I’m not invited.
